Pastoral Council

The Pastoral Council is an advisory council to the pastor, helping to guide the mission of the parish. The members of the Council represent all the parishioners of our parish and are stewards of cooperative planning.

In preparation for our annual Pastoral Council election, we are seeking self-nominations of parishioners who are willing to serve a three-year term (if elected) from July 2024 to June 2027. There are 4 open positions to be filled. The election will be held on the weekend of May 4th and 5th during all the Masses.

 

Expectations of a council member include:

  1. Attend scheduled meetings of the council.

  2. Play a highly visible and exemplary role among fellow parishioners so as to be aware of the views and sensibilities of parishioners on the pastoral life of the parish.

  3. Be informed and educated on the parish Mission Statement in order to explain it to fellow parishioners when required.

  4. Bring practical wisdom and discernment on issues concerning the parish's pastoral mission.

  5. Work to "investigate, consider and conclude" on matters of pastoral activity both during and outside of the scheduled meetings.

  6. Serve when asked as a Pastoral Plan Liaison or other role of service to the parish's stewardship ministries, groups and organizations.

  7. Serve when asked as a sub-committee member on projects requiring a more focused development of pastoral wisdom.

  8. The pastor may ask for the resignation of a member who has more than two (2) unexcused absences within a one-year time period.

 

All eligible adult nominees must:

  1. Be a Catholic in good standing with the church

  2. Be a fully initiated member of the Catholic Church (i.e., has received the three sacraments of initiation: Baptism, Confirmation and Holy Eucharist);

  3. Be a minimum of 18 years old

  4. Be registered in the parish for at least one year by the date of elections

  5. Worship at St. Ann’s on a regular basis

  6. Fulfill all Diocesan Safe Environment requirements

 

If interested and eligible, please email your self-nomination to stanomination@gmail.com no later than Monday, April 8.  The nomination must include a recent photograph (headshot) and a statement of 150 words or less providing a brief biography and addressing some/all of the following:

  1. Your experience that would support the operating principles of the council, namely of “investigating, considering, and concluding.”

  2. Desire to serve the pastor in his responsibility for the pastoral life of the parish.

  3. Your talents/skills what would serve the pastor and council well.

En preparación para nuestra elección anual del Consejo Pastoral, buscamos autonominaciones de feligreses que estén dispuestos a cumplir un mandato de tres años (si es elegido) desde julio de 2024 hasta junio de 2027. Hay 4 posiciones abiertas para ser asignadas.  La elección se llevará a cabo el fin de semana del 4 y 5 de mayo durante todas las Misas.

 

Las expectativas de un miembro del consejo incluyen:

  1. Asistir a las reuniones programadas del consejo.

  2. Desempeñar un papel muy visible y ejemplar entre los compañeros feligreses para estar al tanto de las opiniones y sensibilidades de los feligreses sobre la vida pastoral de la parroquia.

  3. Estar informado y educado sobre la Declaración de la Misión de la parroquia para poder explicarla a los demás feligreses cuando sea necesario.

  4. Aportar sabiduría práctica y discernimiento sobre temas relacionados con la misión pastoral de la parroquia.

  5. Trabajar para “investigar, considerar y concluir” en cuestiones de actividad pastoral tanto dentro como fuera de las reuniones programadas.

  6. Servir cuando se le solicite como Enlace del Plan Pastoral u otra función de servicio a la administración de la parroquia, ministerios, grupos y organizaciones.

  7. Servir cuando se le solicite como miembro del subcomité en proyectos que requieran un desarrollo más centrado de sabiduría pastoral.

  8. El párroco podrá pedir la renuncia de un miembro que tenga más de dos (2) ausencias injustificadas en el plazo de un año.

 

Todos los nominados adultos elegibles deben:

  1. Ser católico con buena reputación en la iglesia

  2. Ser un miembro completamente iniciado de la Iglesia Católica (es decir, haber recibido los tres sacramentos de iniciación: Bautismo, Confirmación y Sagrada Eucaristía);

  3. Tener un mínimo de 18 años

  4. Estar registrado en la parroquia por lo menos un año antes de la fecha de las elecciones

  5. Culto en St. Ann's regularmente

  6. Cumplir con todos los requisitos de Ambiente Seguro Diocesano

La nominación debe incluir una fotografía reciente (headshot) y una declaración de 150 palabras o menos proporcionando una breve biografía y abordando algunos/todos los siguientes puntos:

  1. Su experiencia que respaldaría los principios operativos del consejo, a saber, de "investigar, considerar y concluir.”

  2. Deseo de servir al párroco en su responsabilidad por la vida pastoral de la parroquia.

  3. Sus talentos/habilidades que servirían bien al pastor y al consejo.
