Truth or False Rumor? …… Fact or Fiction? ….. How do I know?
How do rumors get started?
When I hear something about the new Parish Center project from a friend, or fellow parishioner, how do I know if it is true or a mistake?
Even when I attend a presentation from the Bldg Committee - How can I make sure I get the facts straight, when there are so many to remember?
These are all questions the St. Ann’s building committee is currently wrestling with. As much as we are trying to make sure the project facts are communicated with the parish, each week we hear pieces of conversation between parishioners that are not true. So, once again, here is a brief update filled with facts. If you want to know more, please reach out directly to Dean Penny, or a St. Ann’s building committee member.
$$ - Pledges continue to be “on goal”. As such, we anticipate being able to continue planning and construction for our project based on the planned $3.3M project.
Construction - The building committee has selected Clancy and Theys to build our new Parish Center. Clancy and Theys built our church, and has completed a majority of the new projects within the Raleigh Diocese over the past 10 years. We are pleased to be working with them on our new building.
Schedule - Design for the new building is currently kicking into high gear. We anticipate completing design in October. The Contractor is currently developing a detailed project schedule, aimed at completing the building by September, 2015. Construction is anticipated to start in November, 2014 - YES, this Fall!!
Current Design Activities Include - Determining location and number of ADA handicap parking spaces, Laying out the equipment in the kitchen in order to determine optimal design for the commercial grade kitchen, and Refining the front of the building to accommodate up to 6 offices for a portion of our staff and operations. Click here for a peek at the proposed site design!!
As always, if you have suggestions or questions, please reach out to our Building Committee by asking a member directly or by email through our website (www.st-annschurch.org) by clicking on the righthand side of the homepage on the “Contact Us” link, fill out the form and click “Submit”. This will be sent directly to our Building Committee.
